Murilo Bustamante is a Brazilian mixed martial artist and former UFC Middleweight Champion. He was born on July 30, 1966, in Rio de Janeiro, Brazil. Bustamante is a black belt in Brazilian Jiu-Jitsu and also has experience in judo.
Bustamante rose to fame in the early days of the UFC, where he became the Middleweight Champion in 2002 after defeating Dave Menne. He is known for his well-rounded fighting style, with strong grappling skills and striking ability.
In addition to his success in the UFC, Bustamante has also competed in other MMA promotions such as PRIDE FC and Cage Rage. He has faced some of the top fighters in the sport, including Chuck Liddell, Dan Henderson, and Quinton "Rampage" Jackson.
